    The Amarnath Yatra is a revered Hindu pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave Temple in
    Jammu and Kashmir, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Yatra involves trekking to the
    cave and having Helicopter option also to reach at Panjtarni (around 6 Kms before the
    holy cave) which houses a naturally occurring ice Shiva Lingam.

    The Yatra typically takes place during the summer months of Last week of June till
    the Rakshbandhan which is 9 th August 2025. The dates are announced by the Shri
    Amarnath ji Shrine Board (SASB) each year.

    Registration can be done online through the official SASB website or at designated
    banks and travel agencies. Registration usually opens a few months before the Yatra
    season begins.

    You will need to provide a government-issued photo ID, a medical certificate
    confirming fitness, and a passport-sized photograph. The exact requirements can be
    found on the SASB website.

    A medical certificate is required to ensure that you are physically fit to undertake the
    challenging trek to the Amarnath Cave Temple. It must be issued by a certified
    medical practitioner.

    The trek to the Amarnath Cave is approximately 14-16 kilometres (one way). But we
    provide Helicopter package to avoid tough track and you landed at Panjtarni helipad
    from where the holy cave is around 6 Kms one way and guest can hire horse or palki
    also as per their convenient.

    The two main routes are:

    • Pahalgam Route: A longer but more scenic route, starting from Pahalgam.
    • Baltal Route: A shorter but steeper route, starting from Baltal.
    • Helicopter Service-Shiven Holidays provide helicopter packages for both the
      route.

    Essential items include warm clothing, comfortable trekking shoes, rain gear, personal
    medication, toiletries, and a sturdy backpack. Pack light but ensure you have all
    necessary items for the trek.

    Basic accommodations are available at base camps and en route. These include tents
    and temporary shelters provided by SASB and private operators. It’s advisable to
    check in advance and book through authorized agencies.

    There is places like Srinagar, Sonmarg, Pahalgam having all category of hotel facility to stay (start from Deluxe to Luxury) as per the package chosen by guest. But at Panjtarni or Baltal or Sheshnag basic Tent available and for food there is Langar available all the places.

    Modest clothing is recommended. Traditional and comfortable trekking attire is
    appropriate. It’s best to wear layers due to changing temperatures.
    And for female Yatris advised not to wear Sarees during the Yatra keep tracking
    clothes or Salwar Kurta as per the convenient

    The Yatra involves high-altitude trekking, which can be physically demanding. Be
    prepared for altitude sickness and follow all health guidelines. Carry a first-aid kit and
    consult with a healthcare provider before the trip.

    Start early in the day to avoid adverse weather conditions and to complete the trek before dark. Weather can change rapidly, so be prepared for sudden rain or cold.

    Due to the strenuous nature of the trek and high altitude, it is generally not
    recommended for children below 13 years or elderly individuals above 75 years.
    Always consult with a medical professional before planning such trips.

    Cancellation policies vary depending on the registration process and the travel agency
    used. Check the terms and conditions at the time of registration and booking.

    While not mandatory, travel insurance is recommended to cover potential risks such
    as medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and lost belongings.
